Description
Design, development and industrialization of a new premium charging socket for Sparklin.
This enhanced version introduces key features such as MID metering, NFC identification, a dual‑button/LED interface, an integrated display and Ethernet connectivity. Seamlessly integrated into the Sparklin product range, it expands functionality while preserving continuity with the original Spark 1.
Building on our previous work developing the first product in the Sparklin lineup, 4MOD naturally extended the brand experience into this second-generation device. By leveraging the newest technologies: Radar sensing, NFC authentication and certified MID metering, we delivered a highly integrated electronic architecture designed for modern charging expectations: the right charge, at the right time.
Our deep mastery of compact, high‑density electronics allowed us to push integration further while ensuring reliability, safety and ease of use.

Technical requirements
The project presented significant challenges including high electronic integration, strict installation constraints, outdoor durability and a compressed development timeline.
Positioned between the minimalistic Spark 1 and the high‑performance Spark 2 and 3 models, Spark Plus is a versatile and modular, cross-environment solution.
It features a 16A connected socket with NFC, MID metering, multi‑protocol connectivity, a display, plug detection, Ethernet support and RADAR‑based vehicle detection. Engineered for demanding environments, it is IP66 and IK10 resistant.
Its vertical form factor is consistent with the Spark design language, offering additional user‑friendly interaction through LEDs, buttons and a display.
